Maximum size: 1.5m x 1.5m

We welcome all forms of visual art, including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation and mixed media. To apply to the visual arts open call please fill out the form below.

We are partnering with Packed Lunch Productions, a charity working across moving image, fine art and performance, focused on creative education, public engagement and supporting emerging creatives. Packed Lunch Productions will lead the open call for artist film & moving image submissions. Their aims closely align with Painting Progress', making them a natural partner for this exhibition. Selected films will be shown at our screening event on 22nd August 2026, with up to three works chosen by committee for inclusion in the main exhibition. We are looking for emerging artists whose work responds to:

  • Climate change and environmental transformation

  • The relationship between people and nature

  • Injustice and Inequality

  • Access to resources and environmental responsibility

  • The impact of human activity on ecosystems

  • Care, repair, and regeneration

  • The connections between local experiences and global systems

If selected:

  • £10 artist participation fee (includes up to 2 works, max. size 1.5m x 1.5m)

  • £5 per additional artwork

  • Commission: 30% on artworks 15% on prints

Proceeds from artwork sales and donations support Painting Progress in delivering free community arts programmes for vulnerable groups.
